King Charles has reached his limit with his brother Prince Andrew over the issue of the Royal Lodge.Recent reports say the King has warned Prince Andrew that if he doesn’t leave the Royal Lodge and move to Frogmore Cottage, he will cut ties with him. Frogmore Cottage was previously home to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
However, Prince Andrew has been testing King Charles’ patience by refusing to leave the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, according to The Times.
While Prince Andrew has a long-term lease on Royal Lodge, King Charles controls the royal finances and could stop funding, making it hard for Andrew to pay the high maintenance costs of the property.
An insider said, “The King’s patience has limits, and there is a good option for Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, which was recently vacated by Harry and Meghan. It is also within the Windsor Castle security area, reducing the need for extra security for Royal Lodge.”
They added that Andrew is “taking longer than desirable” to “understand the reality of the situation” and hasn’t shown any signs of moving yet.
Additionally, a friend of Andrew said that he is likely to “dig in” if the disagreement continues. They noted that he has already benefited from a “stay of execution” after his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was diagnosed with cancer.
