Olivia Cooke encountered numerous stars on the set of the Steven Spielberg-directed film, including Tom Cruise.
During a June 5 interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the House of the Dragon actress recounted an awkward moment from the set of Ready Player One.
Olivia explained that Spielberg would invite a different celebrity guest to the set each day. “I’m like, ‘Oh god, don’t look at me,’” she recalled.
She continued, “Steven has lots of famous friends, and they would visit the set, like George Lucas. Then, we heard rumors that Tom Cruise was going to visit.”
The House of the Dragon actress described the nerve-wracking experience of meeting Tom Cruise, saying, “I heard Steven say, ‘Olivia, come meet my good friend, Tom Cruise,’ and I completely blacked out.”
She added, “Apparently, my friend rushed to the top of the stage to watch, and I ended up bowing deeply, like a servant, then shook his hand and came to.”
It’s worth noting that Olivia starred alongside Tye Sheridan in Ready Player One, which was released in 2018.
