Partial Restoration: Srinagar-Jammu Highway Reopens After Landslides

“After two days of closure, the Srinagar-Jammu highway has seen partial restoration, according to traffic officials on Wednesday.The closure, prompted by landslides at multiple points in Ramban district, halted all vehicular movement since Monday.

A traffic official in Jammu and Kashmir stated, ‘The Jammu-Srinagar NHW has been partially restored for single-lane traffic, focusing on clearing stranded vehicles between Nashri and Banihal.’

Landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones had blocked NH-44, causing disruptions at various locations including Dalwas, Peerha, near Peerha Tunnel, Mehad-Cafeteria, Jaiswal bridge, Trishul Morh, Seri, T2, Monkey Morh, Mom Passi, Gangroo, Hingni Marog, Kishtwari Pather, Shalghari Rampari, Tabela, and Chamalwas. Additionally, rainfall has been reported along the entire stretch of the highway.”
