Boat Tragedy Srinagar: Mourn Grips the City in the Wake of Tragic Loss, Death toll mounts to 6

Srinagar’s Gandabal area was enveloped in sorrow as thousands gathered to bid farewell to five individuals who tragically lost their lives after a boat capsized on Tuesday morning.

The victims, including a woman, her two sons, and two other locals, were laid to rest amidst tears and sorrow. Funeral prayers were offered jointly, with the ground witnessing an overwhelming turnout as mourners expressed their grief with heavy hearts.

The entire Batwara locality mourned the tragic incident, with locals lamenting the absence of a bridge in the area. They believe that the presence of a bridge could have prevented the tragedy.

“We have repeatedly appealed for a bridge in our locality, but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Today’s devastating loss could have been averted if only a bridge had been constructed,” expressed grief-stricken residents.

The absence of essential infrastructure has left the community grappling with grief and frustration, highlighting the urgent need for authorities to address the longstanding issue.

As the community mourns the loss of lives, the tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of investing in infrastructure to prevent such incidents in the future.
