The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Thursday suspended a lady constable who allegedly slapped actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport. A senior CISF officer confirmed the incident and stated that an FIR is being registered against the constable.
The officer explained, “We have filed a complaint at the local police station against the constable. She has been suspended immediately, and an inquiry has been ordered into the matter.”
The incident occurred around 3:30 pm as Ranaut was preparing to board a flight to Delhi for a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting scheduled for the following day.
Ranaut took to social media, describing the assault during a security check. She stated, “I am safe and fine. After the security check, a CISF woman constable hit me in the face and started abusing me. She later claimed to support the farmers’ protest.”
Ranaut questioned how to end growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab in her post on ‘X’. Meanwhile, the constable alleged her actions were driven by Ranaut’s comments about the farmers’ protests, which included her mother among the demonstrators.
The farmers’ protest, lasting 15 months, was against now-repealed farm laws and other issues.
Kangana Ranaut recently won the Himachal Pradesh Mandi seat by defeating Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh with a margin of 74,755 votes.
