Sajjan Jindal, faces serious allegations of rape lodged by an actress

The actress asserted that the crime took place in the penthouse situated atop the JSW Group’s head office

JSW Group Managing Director, Sajjan Jindal, faces serious allegations of rape lodged by an actress, who claims the incident occurred in January 2022 at the company’s Mumbai office. The complaint was officially filed against Jindal at the BKC police station on Wednesday. The actress asserted that the crime took place in the penthouse situated atop the JSW Group’s head office in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. Allegedly, the BKC police initially disregarded her complaint, prompting her to seek legal recourse. The court intervened, compelling the police to register the complaint.

To Know More About Sajjan Jindal

According to the actress, her first encounter with Jindal transpired in October 2021 in Dubai, where they shared a VIP box during an IPL match. Subsequent meetings occurred in Jaipur at MP Praful Patel’s son’s wedding. The actress claimed that Jindal’s behavior became increasingly personal and intrusive after their Mumbai rendezvous. She alleged that despite her protests, Jindal forced himself on her after persistent advances.

The complainant disclosed that her association with Jindal began innocently, as he had expressed interest in purchasing property from her brother, a real estate consultant in Dubai. However, the relationship took an uncomfortable turn, with Jindal addressing her using endearments like ‘babe’ and ‘baby,’ sharing marital issues during their initial private meeting, and making inappropriate physical advances. The actress, feeling uneasy with Jindal’s gestures, recounted incidents of hugs and flirtatious behavior.

Despite rejecting Jindal’s romantic overtures, the actress claimed he continued expressing feelings for her through text messages, attempting to kiss her and discussing physical intimacy. In January 2022, during a meeting at the company’s headquarters, Jindal allegedly took her to the penthouse against her will, where the incident occurred. Post-incident, the actress attempted to maintain a friendship, but Jindal ceased communication, eventually blocking her number in June 2022. She asserted that Jindal threatened her with severe consequences if she approached the police.

In February 2023, the actress submitted a written complaint to the BKC police, but her grievances were allegedly overlooked. Frustrated by the lack of action, she approached the court, leading to the court’s directive for the police to register the complaint. The BKC police, acting on the actress’s statements, booked Jindal under Sections 376 (rape), 354 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman, intending to outrage her modesty), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The police confirmed ongoing investigations into the matter.

Despite attempts by Hindustan Times (HT) to elicit a response from JSW Group, the company’s spokesperson remained unresponsive to calls and messages regarding the serious allegations made by the actress.
