Argentinian football sensation Lionel Messi has forged a partnership with popular home improvement retail company Lowe’s, leveraging his growing popularity in the US since joining Inter Miami CF last year.
Under the agreement, the North Carolina-based chain will serve as Inter Miami’s official home improvement partner. Lowe’s has also inked a deal with the South American football tournament Copa America, in which the 36-year-old Messi is set to participate.
In a bid to connect with football enthusiasts, Lowe’s unveiled its marketing strategy on Thursday, stating, “To capture the hearts and minds of consumers through a shared love for soccer, Lowe’s is delivering a hat trick for soccer fans. Lowe’s is partnering with the best soccer player in the world, Lionel Messi, Major League Soccer Club Inter Miami CF, and the upcoming CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 USA.”
Gerardo Soto, Lowe’s vice president of brand marketing and sports partnerships, emphasized Messi’s exceptional skills, noting, “Messi is not only the best player in the world who can score a goal on a dime, but he’s also the top assister in history, with over 350 assists throughout his career.”
Soto further elaborated, “Partnering with Leo perfectly reflects Lowe’s shared passion for assisting our customers.”
Meanwhile, the US men’s national football team is gearing up to host Brazil for a friendly match on June 12, following a face-off with Colombia at the FedExField in Landover, Maryland on June 9.
As for Copa America 2024, the tournament will commence on June 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The grand finale is scheduled to take place on July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with matches hosted across 14 cities in the United States, as reported by Fox Sports.
