Symbolic Unity: Kashmiri Muslims gift 2 kg of pure saffron for Ram Temple ceremony

Srinagar, January 22 : In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and cultural unity, Kashmiri Muslims have bestowed a generous offering of 2 kg of pure saffron for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Applauding this symbolic gesture, Ashok Bhan, Chairman of the Kashmir (Policy & Strategy) Group, underscores its significance as a testament to the shared veneration for Lord Ram across diverse communities.

Bhan expressed, “The magnanimous donation of 2 kg of pure saffron by Kashmiri Muslims for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya signifies a unity that transcends religious boundaries. This act mirrors the shared devotion to Lord Ram among various communities, highlighting the common cultural heritage that unites us.”

“As the grand ceremony unfolds on January 22, 2024, and the temple opens its doors for public ‘darshan’ from January 23, the contributions from devotees, including this considerate gift of saffron, contribute to the sacred ambiance surrounding the event,” he remarked.

Bhan conveyed, “The meeting between Kashmiri Muslims and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar underscores the sentiment that, despite differing religious paths, our ancestral ties and shared cultural origins nurture mutual respect. Their acknowledgment of Lord Ram as a revered ancestor signifies the inclusive nature of the Ramayana’s teachings, emphasizing universal values of duty, rights, and social responsibilities.”

“The narrative of Rama’s incarnation as an embodiment of God in human form, as per the Ramayana, resonates with the collective consciousness. The ancient legends of Rama, enriched with cultural expressions, not only form the core of Vaishnavism but also resonate in Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism, showcasing the enduring impact of these tales across diverse spiritual traditions,” he elaborated.

“Shri Ram’s sojourn is adorned with captivating anecdotes that continue to echo in the Kashmiri cultural heritage. Legend has it that during his exile, Shri Ram sought solace in the serene meadows of Kashmir, leaving an indelible mark on the land.
