The National Conference (NC) announced its intention to vie for all three Lok Sabha seats in the Kashmir division, while the Congress party clarified that discussions are ongoing and the final verdict will be disclosed on March 7.

Following the participation of NC Vice President Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti in the INDIA bloc meeting in New Delhi, NC leaders in Kashmir reiterated their stance of not compromising on any valley seat.

NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani affirmed the party’s decision to contest from all Kashmir seats, stating that it’s non-negotiable.

Contrarily, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool highlighted that the seat-sharing decision remains pending until March 7. He refuted NC’s claim, emphasizing that any alliance decision will be made public on the specified date.

PDP spokesperson Najam-us-Saqib reiterated NC’s insistence on contesting all three seats, asserting the significance of the cause over individual interests. The final decision, according to him, will be unveiled on March 7.
