PTI, led by Imran Khan, has criticized the newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, labeling him a “product” of Form 47, which provides insights into unconfirmed election results. Omar Ayub Khan, a PTI leader, accused the ruling coalition of stealing PTI’s mandate in the February 8 elections, alleging changes in Form 47s. PTI claimed to have won 180 NA seats according to Form 45 statistics.
Form 45, also known as the Presiding Officer’s Results of the Count, records the votes cast and received by each candidate in a polling station. Form 47, on the other hand, consolidates the votes from all polling stations in a constituency, providing a provisional result.
Ayub Khan criticized the Shehbaz-led government as a continuation of the previous regime and accused the former ruling party of facing discrimination during the elections. He raised concerns about the rejection of PTI candidates’ nomination papers and demanded an independent inquiry into the May 9 riots.
The riots erupted nationwide following the arrest of the deposed prime minister in a settlement case, resulting in the imprisonment of PTI workers. Ayub Khan also highlighted alleged dual standards, mentioning special treatment for Nawaz Sharif at the airport.
He reiterated PTI’s claims of a stolen mandate and demanded the release of imprisoned party members, including former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his wife Bushra Bibi.
