The Israeli government claims that at least 100 soldiers and civilians were kidnapped in the Hamas assault. Several other individuals are also reported missing from the festival, including British citizen Jake Marlowe, although the Israeli embassy in the UK has not confirmed whether he has been taken hostage.

Jake’s mother informed the news site Jewish News that he had been working as security staff at the festival in Kibbutz Re’im, a community near Gaza.

Videos posted on social media seemed to depict another attendee, identified as Noa Argamani, who was allegedly kidnapped and held on a motorcycle by two men.

Gili Yoskovich, another attendee, recounted her experience, stating that she had hidden under a tree in a field while gunmen roamed around, shooting anyone they encountered.

The situation remains tense after Israel was hit with a surprise attack by Hamas over the weekend. The Palestinian militants unleashed a barrage of rocket attacks, and fighters stormed into Israel, resulting in hundreds of casualties on both sides.
