Lifetime Golden Visa

UAE Denies Lifetime Golden Visa Claims, Warns Public Against Misleading Media Reports

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially denied widespread media claims that it is offering lifetime Golden Visas to individuals of specific nationalities. In a strongly worded statement, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) labelled the reports as “misleading and baseless.”

The clarification came after several prominent Indian news outlets — including The Times of India, The Hindu, and Press Trust of India (PTI) — published articles stating that a new “nomination-based” pilot programme was enabling people from India and Bangladesh to obtain lifetime Golden Visas by paying a one-time fee of AED 100,000, without the need for property ownership or business investment.

The ICP categorically refuted these claims, saying no such lifetime Golden Visa programme exists. The authority emphasized that all aspects of the Golden Visa scheme — including eligibility criteria, categories, conditions, and application procedures — are strictly governed by UAE legislation. Furthermore, these long-term residence permits can only be applied for via official UAE government channels.

“No internal or external private entity has the authority to process or guarantee Golden Visa applications,” the ICP said. “Any offers or promises made by third-party consultancy firms are not valid and could mislead the public.”

The statement also highlighted a recent surge in online articles and social media posts by foreign consultancy firms claiming to facilitate lifetime Golden Visa applications under relaxed terms. According to the ICP, these reports were made without coordination with UAE authorities and carry no legal basis. The authority stressed that such misinformation not only spreads confusion but also opens the door to potential fraud and exploitation.

The Golden Visa is a prestigious long-term residency initiative launched by the UAE to attract top talent and investment. It is typically granted to individuals who have made exceptional contributions in fields such as business, science, technology, culture, education, and humanitarian work. Applicants are thoroughly vetted based on achievements, investments, and potential benefits they bring to the UAE’s economy and society.

Golden Visa holders enjoy a wide range of benefits, including the freedom to live, work, and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor, as well as the ability to sponsor family members.

To ensure transparency and security, the ICP reiterated that all Golden Visa applications must be submitted through official digital platforms — including the ICP website and mobile app. The authority also urged the public not to share personal documents or make any payments to unverified agents or third parties.

“Legal action will be taken against individuals or companies found to be promoting false information about the Golden Visa,” the ICP warned. “We are committed to protecting the public from scams and safeguarding the integrity of our immigration system.”

The ICP concluded its statement by advising anyone seeking information about the Golden Visa to contact the official UAE call centre at 600522222 or visit verified government portals.

As interest in the Golden Visa continues to grow globally, the UAE’s move underscores its firm commitment to transparency, legal integrity, and the protection of applicants from misinformation and exploitation.
